This website is the home of the Massachusetts Student Advisory Council (SAC) which operates within the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Here, officers of the council post updates regarding the council’s work, as well useful information and resources for the students of the Massachusetts.

Mission Statement: The Massachusetts State Student Advisory Council is an organization of democratically elected students from across the Commonwealth which advocates for the interests of all K-12 students in Massachusetts. We seek to improve the quality of educational experience through student initiative, legislative outreach, and collaboration with the general educational community. In doing so, we ensure that the largest stakeholder in public education, the students, is adequately represented in the decision-making process.

This year, the MSAC’s focus is improving the state of digital learning within Massachusetts. We will be working to increase the implementation of technology within Massachusetts classrooms, and to spread awareness of its benefits. We will also be working to improve digital literacy across the state, to ensure the students and teachers are well educated on how to make the most of new educational technologies.
